Tips to Prepare for Class 7 Maths Exam

  • Study plan – A proper study plan is very important. You can plan your schedule, according to your convenience. Following your study plan will make you much more disciplined and punctual. You can be more consistent in your work and also take out time for other things.
  • Understanding – Whenever you start with a chapter, first understand the concept. You can always refer to the NCERT solution for a detailed explanation. Once you have understood the chapter, start solving the exercises on your own and practice the examples given in the textbook. This will help you become familiar with the different types of mathematical problems in the chapter.
  • Don’t try to study for long hours – Studying for long hours does not necessarily mean that it is beneficial. You should take a break in between your study session. Don’t force yourself to study, if your mind and body do not agree. Study regularly in short sessions with breaks. This will improve your efficiency and you will not get exhausted.
  • Preparing your notes – Preparing your notes is very important. While reading a chapter or working out problems in the exercises, you may come across many formulas which you have to memorize. Make a note of these in your book. Whenever you have time, you can go through it or take a glance at it every day, to remember.
  • Have proper sleep – Adequate sleep is very important to keep your mind and body fresh. This will help you stay active and energetic. Hence, try to get at least 7 to 9 hours of sleep, every night, because our brain and body can not function properly without proper rest. If you sleep properly, you can study and retain more information.
  • Do not postpone or skip your daily schedule of studies – Never postpone your study schedule or you will have to study too many topics at once. It would become very hectic and difficult to finish too many topics in one day. Your learning becomes hurried and your understanding becomes ineffective.
  • Setting a proper target in session – Whenever you are starting your study session, set a target for yourself as to how many problems or exercises you will be solving and make sure to accomplish the same.
  • Revision – Revision is very important. Make sure whenever you are starting a new chapter, you go through the previous chapter that you have studied. This way, while learning the new ones, you won’t forget the previous chapters.

Maths is not a subject where you can read and mug up concepts. Hence, when you revise the previous chapter, you can pick up one or two sums and solve them. This way, you can brush up on the chapters that you would have studied previously.

Following these simple tips regularly will help you manage your routine without any stress, help you become confident and score high grades.

  6. Then, start writing the answers one by one.
  7. Make a rough column in the answer sheet for all your rough calculations.
  8. Don’t be clumsy. Your paper should be neat and clean.
