British singer and songwriter Robin Hugh Gibb was died on Sunday (20 May 2012) after a long battle with colorectal cancer. He was best known as a member of the legendary group the Bee Gees, he co-founded with his twin brother Maurice and older brother Barry. Music historian Paul Gambaccini described Gibb as "one of the major figures in the history of British music" and also add "one of the best white soul voices ever."

Robin Gibb Representative released a family statement: "The family of Robin Gibb, of the Bee Gees, announce with great sadness that Robin passed away today following his long battle with cancer and intestinal surgery. The family have asked that their privacy is respected at this very difficult time."
