NBC News's chief foreign correspondent Richard Engel, 39-year-old, and members of his production crew have been freed unharmed from Kidnappers on Monday (December 17) after five days in captivity in Syria. The identities of the kidnappers and their motives were unknown. The NBC news organization released a short statement that said, “We are pleased to report they are safely out of the country.”
Turkish media reported on Dec 17, that Richard Engel went missing in Syria since Dec 12 along with Turkish correspondent for NBC, Aziz Akyavas. On 18th December, it was reported by the US media that he had been kidnapped but was released unharmed. “It is good to be here. I am very happy that we’re able to do this live shot this morning,” Engel told to press.
